The beautiful island of Cyprus is located in the Mediterranean Sea just off the south coast of Turkey and the west coast of Syria. It has an area of 9,251 sq km of which the northern part of the island is in Turkish hands, but hopefully in the near future following the recent change in poltical control with a new President, positive talks may result in the long overdue re-unification of both sides of this wonderful island. The whole island has a population of around 750,000 people mostly split between the capital Nicosia and large towns such as Limassol, Larnaca, Morphou, Paphos and the ports of Kyrenia and Famagusta.

Cyprus has a wide range of scenery - sandy beaches, coastal sand dunes, rich vegetation, mountain ranges and forests that benefit from the hot and sunny climate it experiences for most of the year. It is also home to numerous archaeological and historic sites of interest dating back to ancient Greece and Roman times.

The town of Paphos (Pafos) is situated on the south-west coast of Cyprus and is the base for Villasure Property Management. Paphos was the capital of Cyprus in Roman times and is the legendary birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite, who rose out of the sea.

Tourist attractions in Paphos include the 2,300 year-old "Tombs of the Kings"; a vast underground complex where high officials were buried, and the medieval fort; built to protect the harbour, plus many others.

The island is served by two international airports, Paphos and Larnaca. Paphos airport is situated just 10km outside the town and many car hire service operate from it, or you can pre-arrange your car hire through ourselves. The airport has just had a major extension built and is due to open from November. Flights are daily to the island with various carriers including Cyprus Airways, British Airways & Easyjet, and the flight time from London airports is 4:15 hours.
